If you like discovering new experiences and tastes, love food and wine, Italian Prosecco Road is just right for you

Where is it?
Imagine endless rolling hills of green vineyards with cozy houses, as cut out of a romantic Italian movie. Prosecco Road is just north of Venice, between towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. You can go there for a short trip during your vacation in Venice. Or, like us, get in the car and enjoy an unforgettable weekend.

Who is Prosecco Road for?
1, For anyone, who doesn’t like crowds of tourists.
2, For anyone, looking for an authentic experience.
3, For everyone, who loves food and wine.
4, For everyone, who likes to travel by car and wants to see unique places.

When to go on Prosecco Road?
We went on the Prosecco Road during the summer. We are not fans of laying on the beach or by the pool. However, if you can’t imagine summer without swimming, here too, you will find many small, cozy hotels with a wonderful view and a swimming pool, that will cool you off nicely. A glass of refreshing prosecco in your hand is just the icing on the cake of this unique experience. Prosecco road certainly has its charm even in the spring or autumn.

Where to stay?
If you go on the Prosecco Road with your own car, nothing prevents you from trying several accommodations. We recommend accommodation in Valdobbiadene area.
We personally have stayed at Locanda Sandi, which has just 6 rooms, small restaurant and prosecco shop with degustation.

The second stop was Agroturismo Due Carpini with a panoramic swimming pool and hot tube, a beautiful view of the surrounding vineyards and a great restaurant. The property has a restaurant, spa area, and free parking.

Where to eat?
There are many delicious restaurants in this area. A few that we highly suggest are:
Salis Ristorante
(stunning view and great food)

Locanda Sandi Restaurant
(great food, cozy interior)

What to see?
Rock Statues, San Pietro Di Barbozza
Along the road by car, you will find such adorable pebbles statues. They consist of polished pebbles and rocks and they represent human figures. The author is probably Angelo Favero, a former construction worker from San Pietro di Barbozza (near Valdobbiadene), born in 1945. But everyone here calls him Zoe. After his retirement, he started collecting and sculpting rocks from the Piave river, transforming them into strange figures similar to men. He calls them putinòt. And considers them citizens of the Universe or soldiers of the Great War. But for the locals, they are Zoe’s rocks.

Osteria Senz ‘Oste & The Prosecco Wending Machine
Imagine a place in the middle of green vineyards where you won’t find waiters or innkeepers. Just a three-storey farmhouse in stone and brick, with typical food products of the territory, such as cheeses and cured meats, as well as boiled eggs, pickles, bread, breadsticks, coffee. The wine and prosecco is found in the automatic and refrigerated dispensers. You pay the bill yourself through the special automatic cash machine inside the cottage.
Keep in mind, that:
- it’s not necessary to make a reservation, but be prepared for a lot of tourists, especially during the day,
- cooked food is not available,
- the place is freely accesible until 10:00 PM,
- it’s not allowed to consume food or drinks brought in from outside,
- since there is no service and waiters, tables are often dirty,
- locals consider it more of a tourist attraction and prefer to recommend a visit one of the prosecco producers.
